Thanks to all who came out on Sunday.

We're moving back to Saturday this week, and we'll play again at 25th and N.

Saturday or Sunday?

Let me know. We're still doing 25th and N. I voted for Sunday.

Thanks to all who braved the 20-degree weather last week.

Also, $5 to whoever has the best stuck-in-line / stuck-on-the-Mall story from Inauguration Day. Glad it happened, but glad it's over.

Where to play?

This past Saturday, we had some 20 people show up to play. Thanks for Neil and all of his friends for agreeing to combine games.

This coming Saturday, we would like to continue playing a big game with lineman, but we need to figure out where to play. The field at 18th and California is nearly unplayable. What little grass remains is littered with shattered glass and broken dreams.

As I've been saying for weeks, we need to move the game. Here are what I see as our choices:
1. Field on west side of 25th St. between M St. and N St. NW.
2. Meridian Hill Park: field just east of 16th St. and Kalorama Rd. NW.
3. The Mall: field between National Archives and Hirshhorn Gallery at 7th and Madison NW.
4. The Mall: field just south of Lincoln Memorial along Independence Ave. SW.

For those of you concerned about getting to the Mall, all of you who play with some frequency either live near a Metro or have a car or have a friend with a car. I don't think that any of these locations would prevent a good turnout.

Given that it's inauguration week, the Mall may not be the best idea for this Saturday. So, tentatively, let's say 1:30 p.m. Saturday on the field at 25th and N Sts.

Please post your preferred field option in the comments section here. Thanks.

Same place, new time: Sat., Jan., 10, 2008 @ 1:30 p.m.

Welcome to the new AdMo Football blog, where you can learn about the latest Adams Morgan weekend touch football game times and stats, as well as the previous week's results.

This week (Jan. 10), we will be playing on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. on the field at 18th and California.

We are trying to get as many people as possible to the game -- the Titans-Ravens game doesn't start until 4:30 -- in order to have an offensive line and pass rushers. I've been organizing the game for a year and the best game was the one in which 15 people showed up and we all took turns pretending to be L.T. (the first one, not the one with the stubbed toe in S.D.)

Last week (Jan. 3), the two teams, 4 on 4 with one all-time offense, ended in a 5-5 tie, marking the first week in more than a year in which anyone even bothered to keep score.

Play of the game: On 2nd and goal, my team (Marc, Josh K-R, Seth, Adam R. and me) lined up with two wideouts on either side of the quarterback. When the play began, only Josh K-R went out for a pass, as the rest of us stood motionless on the line of scrimmage. With the defense fooled, Josh ran an easy inside post route as Adam delivered a perfect ball for the touchdown.
